D. G. Briggs and Associates provides the unique mixture of services in the disciplines of law, town planning and building construction. Our principal Damien Briggs holds qualifications in law, town planning, environmental health and building surveying. Those qualifications are complemented by approximately 10 years experience in various employed officer roles in local government and 7 years in private legal and town planning practices, principally in the areas of environmental, planning and local government law, construction law and numerous consulting roles in town planning.

In addition to the traditional services ordinarily provided by
solicitors, we provide specialist expertise to the property development
and construction industries. Our multitude of skills and experience
means that we are able to seek solutions for our clients from
a number of avenues and in a number of forums.
Town Planning Consultancy
Our experience in local government, along with the experience
as an expert witness to various Courts and tribunals and our experience
in the property development sector has provided us with a solid
foundation upon which we can provide town planning services to
our clients.
The application of the law and our knowledge of building and its
practices ensures that we can find appropriate town planning solutions
and acceptable outcomes for our clients. This multi-disciplinary
expertise is a relevant consideration to the commercial issues
surrounding our clients’ needs.
Building Consultancy
Just as we apply our various skills to town planning matters,
we find outcomes in building matters. The Building Consultancy
division of our practice provides advisory services in respect
to building design and construction matters. Those services extend
from the application of the Building Code of Australia to town
planning and design issues to the expert determination of contractual
disputes at the back-end of construction matters.
